Energy efficiency is calculated as the ratio of the supplied current power to the mechanical power on the shaft. Energy efficiency values in international efficiency classes from IE4 to IE1 (where IE4 is the most energy-efficient and IE1 is the most non-energy-efficient). At the moment, motors must reach IE3 (IE2 with a frequency converter is allowed).
